"JJ's Corner - Wiedersehen in der Löwengrube" (The Lions Den)

Hello Lion Nation!

Before I begin, I would like to thank everyone and Lion Nation for your support. It has been an honour so far this year to play and hear your cheers and support each and every game, so thanks.

So, as of now, our undefeated away game record still stands. With the thrashing of our rival Hamburg Blue Devils 30-17, we are now 4-0 courtesy of Hildeheim (pre-season). Everything that we have set so far as a team and our goals, we have reached. To get to this point into the season undefeated, to win each game, one game at a time and one play at a time. Every game has been extremely hard this year. But not because the teams we have faced where better than us (NOT!!). But because we as a team at times have had a lack of focus and sometimes some players try to do more than just their own job. That is all quickly fixed as the game goes on though. Just like when Hamburg came out and on fire. Everything they did worked for them. But after the first half of the game, Coach Cook and Matthias Engisch came together, figured out their defensive scheme and we as an Offense quickly exploited them (HBD). On the defensive side, Coach Mauer and Coach Kypke exploited the HBD offensive strategy and our Defense came out and held the Blue Devils to just 10 points in the 3rd quarter and zero points in the 4th quarter.

I on the other hand was hurt in the middle of the 2nd quarter. I suffered a toe sprain or big toe sprain. That was unfortunate because I had hoped to come out against Hamburg (my old team) and have a big game. But I am not worried because another opportunity at the end of the season will come again. And then I can have a great game here in Braunschweig.

As we look forward to this week’s game against the Stuttgart Scorpions, we all know the importance of this game. The magnitude of this game is so big because this will be Headcoach Gary Spielbuehler’s first game back into our stadium, which I call “The Lions Den”, since his departure. So we know that he will have his team greatly prepared and so we as well need to be fully prepared. Is that a task that will be too great for us? Beating Stuttgart? I think and believe now, that we BS LIONS and BS City will prevail. We Will Win. Believe it, and it is possible.
