Hello Lion Nation!

Hello Lion Nation and to all my fans and everyone who reads JJ’s Corner. Thanks also for all the support at last week’s game against Kiel. It was much needed and for that we thank you.

WOW! What else can I say? Last week’s game against Kiel was one for the ages. It was a true battle between players on both teams and a strategic battle of the minds between coaches. Our Defense was great but even more so was our field goal block team. They did an amazing job. Our Defense only allowed a total of 198 yards. That coming from the Offense that was said, “to be the best in the GFL” (L. Green DB, Kiel). I think not, and if so, then our Defense is the best in the GFL, because our Defense shut them down.

Our Offense massed a total of 274 yards, and that is with 172 yards of penalties. So when you add it up 274+172, that alone should tell you what our Offense is capable of, given that the referees would stop making all these calls. This is something that I think maybe Coach Cook or someone should speak to the Ref’s about. Or whoever is the Chef or Boss for the Ref’s and have him/her really look at the penalties that where called on our Offense in that game against Kiel.

There where calls, that should have been made and other calls that should not have been made. Either way, it is time for the Referees to really pay attention and learn the right way to ref a GFL game.

The best thing about the game was that we were able to finally put all phases of the game together as a team and win. Offense, Defense and Special Teams came together and we won. We, (the players and staff) and Lion Nation sent Kent Anderson and the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes back with a loss, and so far, we are the only ones to do it. So thanks to everyone who help us prepare and thanks for your support.

As we now move on from that great win, to preparing ourselves for which is known to be another great rivalry if not the biggest, the Hamburg Blue Devils. As of now, I believe we are ready for what Hamburg has for us. There were many things and situations that were covered by the coaching staff, that I feel prepared us well. Hopefully, we will stay together as we did once before and continue to knock down everything HBD has to throw at us. If we continue to play as we did against Kiel we will come back home with another win.

Thanks again for everything. Thanks Lion Nation for your support. It is always needed and wanted. Wish us luck and we will continue to do our best as players to make you proud to be a Braunschweiger.
