Well, what can I say? We did it. We made it to the German Bowl. This has been a very long and difficult season.

It has been a season that has been at times not easy to play and not easy to watch for the fans. But in all, it has been a very exciting season. Probably, a season that has been a bit more exciting than the ones previous as well. With the hiring of Javier Cook, we were able to get back to the German Bowl. This year we also had to learn to trust more in each other and learn to believe more not only in each other but also in the coaches. Which sometimes, was not an easy task.

After the loss to Kiel Baltic Hurricanes, many people counted the Braunschweig Lions out. But little did they know, that with that loss, it had prepared us for this very moment. To have the opportunity to beat Kent Anderson and the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes in the German Bowl is an opportunity of a lifetime. To defend our title as German Champions for a fourth time, is a dream come true.

We have been for the last two weeks studying hard and practicing hard just for this moment. To prove to the world and all of Germany, that we are the better team. The offense has been studying every game film and every defensive strategy that Kiel has to offer.

If we can come out at the beginning of the game and take charge of Kiel’s defense with our offense, we will have a good chance to win. Question: Are we ready? We are more than ready, no question.

With everything that has happened to us as a team and as a staff, we are ready. The odds are against us as a Team, Staff and most importantly as a city. Kiel vs. Braunschweig. We must come out and dominate.

I advise everyone who cannot make it to the game to watch the game on DSF or at Tres Amigo’s and the Cinemaxx. It will be the best game of American Football seen here in Germany in a long time.

Thank you so very much for reading JJ’s corner. I hope you all have enjoyed every moment we all had shared with each other on and off the field. To the Fans: I thank you for your support. You guys are truly the BEST fans in all of Germany. You make playing here in Germany a dream come true. Lion Nation, you are the BEST! I can only hope that we cannot only bring you home the championship trophy but also to the city of Braunschweig. Thanks again and wish us luck!
