At another Gorge, where people camped very "wild", I had the opportunity to take a refreshing bath in a big natural pool with even a waterfall - just before the campers came back. The whole pool just for me, since Ingo was too lazy to hop in.
In the surrounding red rocks from time to time a Boab, a nice view!
This morning we went down to the Warmun Roadhouse to refill the car, then the Bungle Bungles again. On the way up we got many dips and suddenly one really steep - we gotta count now so we can be very careful on the way back! First a walking-track through the canyon.
Impressive, but not as I imagined due to the pics I saw from high up in the air in a magazine. We can not - or donīt want to - spend so much money. The scenic flight doesnīt cost $145, but $175 pP for 45 minutes.
But, well. In '95 we saw the Mini-Bungle Bungles, in Hidden Valley near Kunanarra. For free, those days; now there is an entrance-fee, too. Here are the "big ones" in colorful harmony with our car:
On the way out of the Bungle Bungles both of us did count wrong. Our car is priceless! The whole cargo flew to the front, there was a loud bang! No broken axis, everything is all right!
In Kunanarra we went to the garage, exchenge the brake fluid, tighten the bullbar, $100 for the check-up. Afterwards we had a roll at the Trucker Lounge Café - here things had changed a lot!
The park on the other side is clean and good cared for; the former... the "former" now have their own cars, they have good jobs! As we sit at our table a little aboriginie-boy comes over to us. He points at Ingo and says, "you boy" - then he points at me, "you girl". Once again, reassuring, he pats Ingoīs arm and repeats, "you boy" und vice versa. Cute. Good! Very good!!
I wouldnīt have been that brave at that age...
We did our grocery-shopping at Coles & and then left this really hot and dry place. (Cairns, I can cope aith the climate there well, but here...)
The mass of Blowies gets smaller. Finally! They go on our nerves, for $ nothing but a lot pP... Ingo cooks supper. The black-white birds (Magpies?) stay very close to see if we share with them. Tonight itīs not Baked Beans - Corned Beef, but noodles with Stagg's Straight Chilli Chunky Chicken for a change (and thatīs no bird-food, sorry, guys). And we took a shower - 2 people need 1/2 solar-shower filling; First try with that thing. Freshly shaved we have supper now.
