We finally left Broome - after taking a last comfy shower.. I am behind the wall & still it was very embarrassing for the serviceman to bring new toilet-paper. More uptight than my former roommate Astrid...
So with a heavy heart we left. At the next Rest Area Ingo said, "if we hadn´t been here almost three weeks already, but only one, we could go back" - but NO, enough for now, Broome!

Next was Derby and you cannot say nothing has changed here - the public showers & toilets were nowhere to be found.

And on the way, what do we see? In Broome I finally threw the potatoes away, since we couldn´t prepare them properly. And now? Yep, a Rest-Area, where you are allowed to make a fire & not only this, recently there was a bush-fire & so there is heaps of firewood. The next Rest-Area, too, gave this service. But no potatoes large enough.

Gibb River Road. Heaps bitumen, then a good Gravel Road. A small trip to Windjana Gorge. HERE a lot has changed. There are two campgrounds now, one for generator-use & a quiet campground.

& fantastic open-air showers, very spacy, very clean, very sunny & extremely refreshing! Not to mention the water - real water, I can feel it in my hair, no more fussing, just great!.

Further on to Bell Gorge and now Halls Creek is waiting. We even overtook people on bicycles! In this dust and with this traffic I am happy to close the car-windows - they have no protection.

& we even saw a Dust-Devil. From time to time there is some sweet fragrance, some grasses, I guess.
