Reading those blogs from Perth-people made me literally "homesick". We did spent a lot of time there ourselves.
In 1995 we had a break there.
In 1999 it took us more than two weeks to find the right car for our second journey and nearly another five weeks to sell it afterwards. In the meantime we came back to extend our Visa.
And when I read there are no red onions available at
Woolworths
or someone went to shopping centre XY, I had it right in front of my eyes. And I wanted to come back.
Ingo agreed, to spend christmas in Perth. Why christmas?
On december the seventh in 1999 we left Australia - instead of taking the chance and celebrate the year 2k there - I bet it was a great party! We missed Santa Clause on his Harley Davidson for just one day...
in July 06 I booked the flight to Perth. Again it wasn´t possible to celebreate New Years´Eve in Perth. It was peak season and hence very expensive. Main reason was that all Qantas-flights from Singapore on had been booked already and we didn´t want to take another flight. Our experience with Malaysian Airlines in 1999 was enough.
Perth 2006 finally was a holiday. Sightseeing. Meeting other bloggers. Just hanging around, sweating along in the middle of December.
It was great. I led a "paper"-diary and put it in Double Half. If you wanna check out what our "adventures" had been: Just go to
this place
, go to the archive of January 2006 and check the label "holiday-diary" or use blogger search with it. Learn how we found Thalers from Braunschweig und Wolfenbuettel in Fremantle, celebrated christmas twice and had a beautiful holiday in Perth.
Have a look at this beautiful city:
