We were in Coral Bay, snorkeling. It was awesome! You simply lie in the sea, it´s carrying your body! Only a few metres apard there are corals and the most colorful fishes you can imagine - very near! We were thrilled!
Then the search for a place for the night. Near Exmouth, between the huge antenna we found a rest area to stay over night. While Ingo started to prepare dinner, I wanted to take my contact lenses out. I was still so much fascinated from what I just saw in the sea... Instead of first emptying the container, I put the lense inside - and emptied it then!
Somewhere in the dust the lense lies. I´m on the ground, searching. The Ranger arrives. With his dog. Which thinks I´m playing some great game. And joined in. Before I could explain to the Ranger what had happened, my new playfellow went through the area so efficiently that I could let go of further searching.Certainly I had no replacement lense with me. What for?! In Port Headland we went to the optometrist. After all, I had my contact-lense pass with me. The friendly optometrist ordered the new lense to Broome. In Broome I get my new lense. Hm. Very small. I let the optometrist convince me to try and we go on. To small, the thing.
Darwin: To the optometrist. He nearly broke down and confirmed, the lense really is too small. Laubman & PankThank you, doggie, for this anecdote!
